Buying a dachshund coat: choosing the right fit, belly cover and size

Dachshunds are not simply small dogs. Because of their body shape, standard cuts can be too short, press on the chest, rub at the belly or twist while the dog runs. A good dog coat for a dachshund protects the back, sits close enough to the body and leaves the shoulders and legs free.
Measuring properly: how to find the right size
Measure the back length from the shoulder blade to the base of the tail. Measure the chest girth at the widest point, just behind the front legs. Measure the neck girth where the coat or jumper will later sit.
- Between two back lengths? First check that you really measured from the shoulder blade.
- Tail often held high? Then the shorter option is usually more comfortable, so the coat does not get in the way at the base of the tail.
- Very deep chest? Chest girth and room at the belly matter most.

Raincoat, jumper or both?
The Mini-Fit raincoat protects against rain, wind and cold wet weather. The Glow Jumper warms the belly, chest and body. On cold rainy days, layering often works well: the jumper as the warm layer, the raincoat on top for weather protection.
The Glow Loop rounds off the set up if your dog gets cold quickly around the neck, or if you want a little extra warmth for the in between seasons.

No. Mini-Fit is made for dachshunds and small breeds, for example small poodles, small mixed breeds and dogs with short legs, a longer back or a deeper chest.
Can I send it back if it does not fit?
Yes. You can register a return through our returns portal within 14 days of receiving the parcel and you will get a DHL ticket. The customer pays the cost of the return. Please order a different size as a new order.
How quickly do you deliver?
We ship every day from Monday to Friday. Delivery normally takes 1-3 days and includes a tracking number.
Can I wash the products?
Yes. We recommend a 30°C delicate wash with a mild detergent, a gentle spin and drying flat. Please do not use a tumble dryer.
