It keeps the back dry in the rain and helps to prevent your dog from cooling down in cold, wet weather.

For dry cold, a close-fitting dog jumper such as the Glow Jumper 2.0 works well. It warms the belly and chest. On very cold, wet days the jumper can be worn under the Raincoat.

Mini-Fit: why dachshunds need a special fit

Many standard coats are either too short over the back, too wide at the waist or too long at the sides for dachshunds. The Mini-Fit is developed for small dogs with short legs, a slender silhouette or a deep chest. What always counts is back length, belly and chest girth, and the fit in movement.

The Raincoat is put on like a blanket: at the front with a two-way adjustable button fastening and at the waist with a hook-and-loop fastening. This lets you tighten the coat so that it sits securely while walking, sniffing and running.

Dachshunds with a long back and a strong chest: which size?

With dachshunds the back length is often greater than the chest girth suggests. So always measure the back length first, from the shoulder blade to the base of the tail, and then the belly and chest girth at the widest point behind the front legs. If back length and chest girth fall into different sizes, the coat should be long enough over the back and adjusted securely at the waist with the hook-and-loop fastening.

Harness, jumper and everyday life

A harness can be worn under the Glow Raincoat Mini-Fit. The slot at the neck and back guides the lead to the outside. A thin to medium jumper can also be worn under the Raincoat if your dog needs extra belly protection on very cold days.

The Mini-Fit is particularly practical for sensitive dogs, because nothing has to be pulled over the head. The lined strap and belly band add comfort and stop the coat from slipping too much in movement.

Neon colours for rain, dusk and woodland

Neon yellow, neon green, neon pink and neon orange create strong contrast in daylight, in diffuse light, in rainy weather and off the lead in the woods. Small dogs such as dachshunds are noticed sooner.

Important: neon is not the same as reflective. The Glow Raincoat does not light up by itself and has no reflective transfers on the outer fabric. For darkness we also recommend a light on the dog and reflective accessories such as the reflective magnetic clip.
