Why Neon?
Why neon colours make sense in dog clothing.
Neon colours stand out more than muted colours and make your dog easier to see day to day, especially in grey weather, at dusk or in busy situations.
For lumiies® neon is therefore not only a design feature. It combines eye-catching colours with functional dog clothing and keeps your dachshund from disappearing into a uniform grey.
Neon colours do not replace reflective or illuminated safety products in the dark. Above all they raise how easily the dog is noticed in daylight and in poor visibility.

What really counts in dachshund clothing.
Back length
A dachshund coat or dachshund jumper needs enough length to cover the long back properly, without making the whole cut bigger.
Chest girth
The deep chest needs enough room. At the same time the garment should sit close enough to the body so it does not slip sideways when the dog runs.
Belly area
Because dachshunds move so close to the ground, the belly area is particularly exposed. A good cut protects it without getting in the way for males or during movement.
Short legs
Sleeves and leg openings have to be proportioned so that nothing drags on the ground and freedom of movement stays.

Why do dachshunds need special dog clothing?
Dachshunds have a long back, a deep chest and short legs. That is why normal dog clothing in small sizes does not automatically fit. A good dachshund cut takes back length, chest, belly and leg length into account together.
Which dog clothing suits a dachshund?
