    Fit

    For short legs and a long back.

    Standard coats almost always sit wrong on dachshunds: too short on the back, too wide at the belly, too tight at the chest. The Mini Fit is cut exactly for these proportions.

    • Back fully coveredThe length reaches to the base of the tail without chafing at the belly.
    • Not over the headLay it on, close the press studs at the neck, adjust the hook and loop fastener at the waist.
    • Harness stays underneathThe lead is guided through the opening and the coat stays on.

    Measure the back length from the shoulder blade to the base of the tail and the belly girth at its widest point.

    Frequently asked questions

    In short.

    Which dogs is the Mini Fit made for?
    For dachshunds of every variety, miniature poodles, chihuahuas, miniature pinschers, maltese, yorkshire terriers, jack russell terriers and small crossbreeds. What counts is a back length between 26 and 49 cm, not the breed.
    Is the raincoat really waterproof?
    Yes. The outer material has a 10,000 mm water column and keeps out normal to heavy rain. Inside there is warm thermal fleece.
    Can my dog wear a harness underneath?
    Yes. The coat has an opening through which you attach the lead to the harness without taking the coat off.
    Does the coat have to be pulled over the head?
    No. The Mini Fit is laid on and closed with press studs at the neck and an adjustable hook and loop fastener at the waist.
    Where does the back length start?
    Always at the shoulder blade. Measure from there along the spine to the base of the tail while your dog is standing straight. Please do not start at the base of the neck, otherwise the size will come out too long.
    Which size do I take between two values?
    Take the larger size if your dog has a lot of coat or falls between two back lengths. If in doubt, write to us in the customer chat and we will work it out with you.
