Many dogs love to sleep covered up and undisturbed. In the Studio Nest they simply crawl inside: the head looks out or stays in, and the back is softly wrapped.
Snuggle nest, sleeping bag and dog bed in one: a retreat for your dog with a feel-good factor. The teddy sherpa inside holds the warmth, with no blanket on top.

Your dog loves the couch because it lies close to you there, warm and protected at the back. The Studio Nest offers exactly that. With a diameter of 50 cm it sits on the sofa next to you or on the floor beside it.
At 1,5 kg and with two handles you can carry the empty nest to the office, to a restaurant or to friends. It is not a dog carrier: while travelling, your dog belongs in a secured transport box or a car harness. At your destination, the nest is its familiar sleeping place.

Cosy materials
On the outside a knitted cloud pattern in chenille and cotton (80 % polyester, 20 % cotton), densely knitted, soft and stable in shape, so the nest stands on its own. Inside teddy sherpa in cognac, with polyester wadding in between, around 3 cm thick in total, like a thick, soft blanket.
We use high-quality materials only and no animal materials such as wool, down, leather or silk. An all-year product: breathable, it does not overheat.

For small dogs and puppies up to 15 kg
Most dogs curl up in the nest, and for that the lying surface is enough even for a dachshund or an Italian greyhound. Dogs that want to sleep stretched out lie on top with the rim folded down. What counts is body length and sleeping position, not weight alone.

Which dog bed suits a dog that burrows under blankets?
A dog bed with a sleeping-bag function. For that, the Studio Nest is laid on its side with the opening facing forward, and the dog crawls in by itself. It can burrow in completely, look out with just its head, or sit upright inside. That suits dachshunds, Italian greyhounds, whippets and chihuahuas that like to hide away to sleep.
How long does it take for my dog to accept the nest?
With our test dogs and at trade fairs the nest was usually accepted straight away, the dogs lay down in it and settled. Every dog is different. A worn piece of clothing in the nest helps at the start, along with a quiet spot your dog already likes.
Is the dog bed washable and how do I wash it?
Yes, the complete Studio Nest goes into the washing machine at 30°C on the delicate programme, gentle spin, washed separately. There is no cover to remove. Take off dog hair with a lint roller first, use unperfumed detergent for delicates, no fabric softener, no tumble dryer, dry flat. It is usually dry again overnight.
Can I return the Studio Nest if my dog does not accept it?
Yes, within 14 days. Your dog may try the nest out, the way you would check it in a shop. Send it back clean, free of dog hair and with the cotton bag and hangtag, and we refund the full purchase price. Every return is checked on arrival. If the nest is soiled, damaged or used beyond trying it out, we deduct the loss in value from the refund. You carry the return shipping costs. My dog is incontinent, in season or not yet house-trained. What do you recommend?
In these cases always put an absorbent underlay in the nest. The wadding is not waterproof. With an underlay the nest stays dry and needs washing less often.

How do I use the Studio Nest as a basket, a flat bed or a cave?
Standing upright it is a basket with a 45 cm high rim. Fold the rim outwards and it becomes lower and more open, as low as suits your dog. Lay it on its side and it is a cave and a sleeping bag your dog crawls into.
Which dog bed is right for a dog that gets cold quickly?
A bed that surrounds the dog, with a warm lining. The Studio Nest is lined with teddy sherpa inside and encloses the dog, so its own body warmth stays in the nest. Short-haired and slim dogs such as Italian greyhounds, whippets, chihuahuas or dachshunds use it as a warm sleeping place.

Which dog bed size do I need for a dog of 5 to 10 kg?
The Studio Nest has a diameter of 50 cm and a height of 45 cm and is made for dogs up to 15 kg. A dog of 5 to 10 kg fits into it completely when curled up. To sleep stretched out, fold the rim down. With long bodies such as a dachshund, body length counts more than weight.
My dog sleeps on the couch instead of in its bed. What helps?
On the couch dogs look for closeness, warmth and a boundary at the back. The Studio Nest offers all three. It sits on the sofa next to you or on the floor beside it, and the nubbed underside does not slide away easily on smooth floors. A worn piece of clothing in the nest makes the change easier.
Does the dog bed smell of dog?
The knit structure is breathable and airs out by itself. In everyday use it is enough to shake the nest out regularly and let it air. If it gets dirty you wash it completely. Do not use perfumed detergent or fabric softener: dogs do not like a foreign smell on their sleeping place.
Can I take the dog bed in the car or on trips?
As a sleeping place at your destination, yes. The Studio Nest weighs 1,5 kg, has two handles and is delivered in a cotton drawstring bag it can be carried and stored in. It is not a dog carrier: while travelling your dog belongs in a secured transport box or a car harness, not in the nest.
Is the Studio Nest too warm in summer?
No. The Studio Nest is an all-year product. The knit structure is breathable and the nest does not overheat. In summer many dogs lie openly on top with the rim folded down. On hot days your dog also needs water and a cool spot.
Does the knit stand up to claws and scratching?
The chenille knit is densely knitted and made for everyday use, including a dog turning around and pushing the nest into shape before lying down. A dog that scratches and digs constantly can damage any material, this one included.
Will the dog bed still fit my puppy when it grows up?
The Studio Nest is made for dogs up to a final weight of 15 kg. Puppies of small breeds such as dachshund, chihuahua, maltese or pomeranian keep it for life. Puppies of larger breeds grow out of it once they weigh more than 15 kg.
My puppy chews everything. What should I watch out for?
The two handles are firmly stitched on and there are no metal parts. Watch your puppy in the first few days at any new sleeping place. If it chews the handles, fold the rim so that the handles are covered. Puppies should not be left alone with textiles unsupervised.
Do two small dogs fit into the Studio Nest together?
Two very small dogs up to about 5 kg that like to lie close together share the nest. Two dachshunds, or a dachshund and a chihuahua, each need their own nest.
Is the Studio Nest also suitable for cats?
Yes, cats use the nest as a sleeping cave just like small dogs do. Please note that the nest is knitted. A cat that kneads with its claws before lying down or scratches at the rim can pull threads. For cats that do this regularly, a smooth fabric is the better choice.

Is the Studio Nest an orthopaedic dog bed?
No. The Studio Nest has a soft lying surface of around 3 cm made of knit, wadding and sherpa, but no visco or memory foam mattress. For dogs with joint problems that need a firm, supporting surface, an orthopaedic dog bed is the better choice.
Can I carry my dog in the Studio Nest by the handles?
No. The two handles are meant for carrying the empty nest between living room, office or café. The Studio Nest has no safety leash and is not made for transporting a dog in a car, on a train or on a plane.
What is the Studio Nest made of?

Where is the Studio Nest produced?
In India, in a premium manufacturer run as a third-generation family business. The company produces mainly for the European market, including clothing and blankets for babies and small children, and works on knitting machines from German manufacturers. We have worked with this manufacturer since 2025, and our Glow Jumpers, loops, beanies and sherpa jumpers are made there too. In July 2026 we were there ourselves, agreed the new collections and checked the production process.
How does the Studio Nest arrive at my home?

Which colours are available?

Do I also need the Studio Blanket with the nest?
Not necessarily. The Studio Blanket (100 × 80 cm) lies on the couch, in the car or as a layer inside the nest. It is available on its own and also fits larger dogs. The Studio Heart is a heart-shaped cuddle cushion to rest the head on, without a squeaker. Dogs play with it too; a dog that takes toys apart can also damage the heart.
