Dachshunds often have short legs, a long back and a deep chest. So a dachshund jumper needs a fit that warms without catching at the belly or limiting movement. What counts is not only the breed, but the back length, chest girth, neck girth and body shape.
Do dachshunds really need a jumper?
Many dachshunds feel the cold sooner, because chest and belly sit close to the ground. Short-haired dachshunds, older dogs, slim dogs and dogs with little undercoat often benefit from a warm jumper on cold days.
Which size does my dachshund need?
Dachshund is not one fixed size. Rabbit dachshunds, miniature dachshunds and standard dachshunds can be several sizes apart. So always measure your dog standing and compare the numbers with the size chart.
How to measure properly
- Back length: measure from the shoulder blade to the base of the tail.
- Chest girth: measure at the widest point directly behind the front legs.
- Neck girth: measure where the jumper should sit comfortably.

Between two sizes?
With the Glow Jumper the back length comes first, then chest girth and body shape. With a strong chest or a thick coat, the larger size is often more comfortable. On very slim dogs the smaller size can sit better.
Material and care
The Glow Jumper 2.0 is stretchy, warm and kind to skin and coat. We recommend a 30°C delicate wash, a gentle spin, ideally washing it in a wash bag and drying it flat. Please do not put it in the tumble dryer.

From what temperature does a dachshund need a jumper?
That depends on coat, age, activity and weather. Many dachshund owners use a jumper in cold, wind or wet, especially with short-haired or older dogs.
Does a harness fit over the jumper?
Yes. A harness can usually be worn over the close-fitting jumper.
Does the Glow Jumper throw light back in the dark?
No. Neon stands out in daylight in intense neon colours, but it does not light up by itself or throw light back. For darkness we recommend reflective products such as the Magnetic Glow Tag.
