Chihuahua clothing for very small dogs
Chihuahuas get cold sooner than most other dogs. They have little body mass and, in relation to it, a large body surface through which warmth is lost. Short haired chihuahuas often start to shiver at around ten degrees, and considerably sooner in the wet. Dog clothing here is not an accessory, it is protection against the cold.
Which fit suits a chihuahua?
In almost every case Mini Fit. The cut was developed for short legs, compact backs and small chest girths. The Glow Raincoat Mini Fit is laminated waterproof, windproof and lined inside with soft polar fleece.
For cold, dry days the Glow Jumper 2.0 is the warming layer. It starts at size 0 and so fits very small dogs too. In cold rain the jumper can be worn under the raincoat. The Glow Loop gives extra protection to neck and nape if your dog is sensitive there.

FAQ
At what temperature does a chihuahua need a coat?
That depends on coat, age and activity. Short haired chihuahuas often show signs of being cold below ten degrees, long haired ones somewhat later. In wet and windy weather the threshold drops noticeably.
Mini Fit or Regular Fit?
For chihuahuas almost always Mini Fit. What matters is not the breed name but the ratio of back length to chest girth. If you are unsure, send us the measurements.
Does the Glow Jumper 2.0 also fit very small dogs?
Yes. The sizes start at 0 and so cover very small chihuahuas as well.
Can my dog wear a harness underneath?
Yes. The Glow Raincoat has a two way zip for the harness.
Is the clothing washable?
Yes. For machine washing we recommend the Gentle Wash Bag, so that zips and seams are protected.
